Review
ACCUSPLIT has made a nice pedometer in the AE170, and it's especially
beneficial to anyone who would like to lose weight. It's also a very popular model, due to the fact that it's very accurate and simple to
use, and should last for a long time. And while it isn't the fanciest pedometer available, it tracks a number of useful statistics
that can easily be accessed.
Like all pedometers, this one will measure how many steps you take, but it will also record distance traveled and calories
burned. Although it doesn't keep a separate count of these numbers that can be accessed on a daily basis, like some pedometers
can, it compensates by being able to record a very large amount of data in each category. After all, since it can be track up to 1,000
miles, you'll get all the information that is required.
One of the best features of the ACCUSPLIT AE170 is that it's designed for people who are trying to lose weight, and can calculate
how many calories are being burned. Since you can enter your weight into the AE170, you are getting a customized count, which is
helpful. Also, the pedometer includes the 24-page Activity Wellness Program and Pedometer Use Guide, which will give you more tips on
how to use your pedometer to improve your physical condition. ACCUSPLIT even has tips and suggestions that can be accessed on the internet,
called the Online Wellness Support Program. Without a doubt, the AE170 is one of the best pedometers to use when losing weight.
In order to use the AE170 to its full potential, it's crucial to accurately measure your stride, since the pedometer uses
this to calculate distance and calories. Even though stride can be measured in centimeters or inches, inches can only be used in 4 inch
intervals, which won't always be exact enough. If this is a problem, then you might want to use centimeters instead, though not everyone is
used to metric measurements, so this can be annoying. Also realize that if you use the pedometer for both walking and running or jogging,
your stride will be different. Make sure to either change your stride measurement, or realize the distance calculation will be off.
Still, with all of the included weight loss management extras, this is a quality pedometer.
