Review
This innovative pedometer, available in either black or pink, functions by
wearing it on the wrist like a normal watch. Many people are skeptical that a pedometer can function accurately like this, but the Tech 4 0
running watch is indeed one of the more reliable models available. With a load of extra features, this is one of the most deluxe pedometers
around, though it does suffer from quite a few small problems.
It may seem impossible that a pedometer could work by wearing it on the wrist, but the Silva Tech 4 0 uses a new accelerometer
sensor technology. The sensor is able to capture the user's acceleration, so whenever you move, it produces an electric current to a
various degree. Then, the pedometer is able to measure speed and distance. Overall, this is one of the more accurate models, though
most people will notice it can be off by a small degree.
In addition to being innovative, there are also a number of extra features to be found. You are able to enter personal
information into the Tech 4 0, such as stride length, age, and weight. After you enter this, the pedometer will be able to customize your
calorie loss and distance traveled. Additionally, it will calculate what speed you are traveling at, which will be greatly appreciated by
runners. There are a number of other nice extras as well, such as clock and calendar function, a stopwatch feature, and 7 day memory
storage. The Tech 4 0 pedometer can actually double as a digital watch.
Even though nothing is horribly wrong with this pedometer, there are a lot of minor issues. First, the instructions that
are not all that clear, and since this is a more complicated pedometer, this can be a problem. Also, it will take a while to figure out how
to use all of the features. Another annoyance is that the display is not adequately designed to show everything you want to know at
once. You'll have to fiddle with the buttons to switch between modes, and if you're running, this can be difficult. Additionally, the
dome shaped display can cause glare that makes it more difficult to read, and is easily prone to scratching. Although there are all of
these problems, the Tech 4 0 running watch is still a very cool pedometer, and is great if you prefer a wrist model.
